The Saint-Papoul's Abbey

The Choir is formed by two arched bays with ceiling beams and a semi-dome. It's decorated with pre-Romanesque capitals and a wall niche tomb from the 14th century. Its roof is made up of sculptured flagstones (an unparalleled specimen of architecture).

The spacious nave opens on to four side chapels (14th century). In one of them one can see  a 16th century Pieta made of gilded wood. The original entrance was on the western side under a chrismom and a billet arch. That door was walled up in the 15th century.
